How to Send Updates in Builder Signal - Builder Admins - Mobile App
For Builder Admins responsible for keeping homeowners informed. Learn how to send updates during the home construction process using photos, videos, and descriptions. Builder Admins can make updates from the Web Version or Mobile App.
Step-by-Step Instructions for Mobile App
- Login into Builder Signal Mobile App
Use your Builder Admin credentials to log into the Builder Signal App. - Access the Home You're Wanting to Update
From the dashboard, find the home you want to update. As a Builder Admin, all homes will be listed on your main screen. - Click "Make an Update"
- Add Photos or Video
Select Photos or Video you want to send from your library. If you're sending multiple photos or video, it's best to take them in advance before opening the Builder Signal Mobile App (this is required for video). You can also use the "CAMERA" button. Note: if sending video, you can only send 1 per update with max length of 1 min or 100MB. - Select "Next"
The Next button is in the upper-right hand corner of the screen. - Add Details
- Date. Today's date is selected by default but can be back-dated or set in the future.
- Media. Confirm the images you previously selected for the update.
- Update. Add a description for the update that the homeowner will receive. Note that you can can apply basic formatting to the text of your update, including different font sizes, boldface, italics, or bulleted or numbered lists.
- Phases. Tap an area below the description you just typed. Then select the appropriate Building Phase for the update. These are populated from the Building Phases configured for your account. Builder Admins can add or edit your Building Phases. See our article: How to Add and Update Building Phases. - Select "Next"
The Next button is in the upper-right hand corner of the screen. - "Select An Address" and then "Next"
Builder Admins can select from all homes in Builder Signal. Builder Users will only see homes that are assigned to them. - "Review Your Update"
Check all the details for accuracy, as this will be the information sent to the customer. - "Send" the Update
Click Send in the upper-right hand corner of the screen. A confirmation message will be displayed, "Send This Update? The Homeowner and Additional Email Recipients will be notified of the update right away." You may Cancel and make changes to the update, or select Send. - Successful Send Notification
A message will display at the bottom of the screen to confirm a successful update.
Common Issues:
- Photo/Video Upload Not Working?
Ensure the Builder Signal App has the appropriate permission configured on your mobile device to access your media library and camera. You can check this from your mobile device settings. - Photo/Video Upload Not Working?
Video can be used for updating homeowners as follows:
- Only 1 video per update.
- Max video length: 1 minute
- Max file size: 100MB - Can't select the building phase?
- After typing in their update description, some users have reported they have to click an area outside the text field before they can select a Phase. - Update Didn’t Reach the Homeowner?
Make sure the homeowner’s email address is correctly configured in the system. If the email address is incorrect, the email notifications will not be delivered. - Update Didn’t Go Through?
If connecting to the internet through cellular data instead of Wi-Fi, sometimes updates will fail to be sent immediately due to poor reception. Those Updates are considered Drafts, which can be found at the bottom right of the screen, next to Account. When reception is improved or Wi-Fi connection is established, open Drafts and click Retry to send the update.
