How to Edit an Existing Update in Builder Signal - Builder Admins

For Builder Admins responsible to ensure accurate communication with homeowners. Learn how to edit or correct a previously sent update. Adjust photos, videos, descriptions and more.

 

 

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Log into the Builder Signal Dashboard as a Builder Admin
    Use your builder admin credentials to log in to the Builder Signal website. Only Builder Admins can make changes to an update that has already been sent.
  2. Locate the Home to Edit
    From your Homes dashboard, identify the home you want to edit. As an admin, you'll see all all homes listed on your Homes in Progress screen. Select Updates. If the Updates column isn't visible, scroll right to locate it. On the Updates screen, you may want to click View Homeowner Site to preview the content currently visible to the homeowner. The Homeowner timeline will open in a separate browser tab.
  3. Edit the Construction Update
    From the Updates screen for the selected home, find the specific update you wish to modify and click the Pencil Icon to make your Edits.
  4. Edit Any or All Components of the Update:
    - Photos/video. Delete files using the Trash Can icon in the upper corner of the photo/video. Add content to the update via Drag and Drop or navigating to your photos folder.
    - Date. Select from the calendar function.
    - Building Phase. Select from the drop-down menu.
    - Description. Make any necessary changes.
  5. Review and Save
    Review your revisions and Save your changes. A confirmation message will appear, "Update successfully saved."
  6. Preview the Homeowner Site
    Click View Homeowner Site to preview your changes. The construction timeline will display your edits exactly as they will appear to the Homeowner when they next visit their website.

Common Issues:

  • Can't Edit an Existing Update?
    Ensure you’re logged into the web application with your admin credentials. Only Builder Admins can edit an existing update.
  • Photo/Video Upload Not Working?
    - Only 1 video per update.
    - Max video length: 1 minute
    - Max file size: 100MB
  • Changes Not Displaying on Homeowner Website?
    Be sure to hit "Save" after making your changes.
  • Homeowner Did Not Receive Email Notification After Edits?
    The Homeowner is not sent an email notification when an update is modified. They will notice the changes the next time they visit their website.
