How to Set Up and Manage Company Details in Builder Signal
For Builder Admins responsible for the overall account management of Builder Signal, providing essential tools to configure your Builder Signal account.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Log into Builder Signal as a Builder Admin
Ensure you’re logged into the web application with your admin credentials. Only Builder Admins can manage Company Details. - Navigate to User Management Page
Go to the drop-down Menu in the upper-right hand corner of the screen and click Settings > Company Details. - Builder Name (required)
The Builder Name is displayed on every homeowner website, identifying the builder, along with the address of the home. It is also displayed in the homeowner website footer (Copyright Builder Name). - Website URL (required)
The Website URL is linked to the builder logo displayed on every homeowner website. Whenever the builder logo is clicked, it will go to this Website URL. - Contact Email (required)
The Contact Email serves as the email address the Builder Signal team uses to communicate with the builder for purposes such as updates and billing. It is not displayed on the homeowner website or public-facing in any way. - Phone Number (required)
The Phone Numbers is used exclusively by the Builder Signal team to communicate with the builder for purposes such as updates and billing. It is not displayed on the homeowner website and is not public-facing in any way. - Default Additional Email Recipients (optional)
The Additional Email Recipients field is used to add people, other than the Homeowner, who wish to receive construction updates. These recipients will get the same email notifications as the Homeowner when updates are made. Additional Email Recipients can be configured per individual home; see our article: How to Set Up a New Home in Builder Signal.
The Default Additional Email Recipients field functions similarly, but applies to the entire account. Email addresses entered here will automatically be recipients for every new home added and will receive every update. For example, if a builder wants their leadership team to stay informed about all construction updates, they should add those email addresses here (sales_leader@, field_leader@, etc.). These addresses will appear in the 'CC' field of the notification email sent to the homeowner when an update is made. You can remove any email addresses entered here for any individual home. - Global Blind Carbon Copy Email Recipients - BCC (optional)
This field operates similarly to the Default Additional Email Recipient, with one key difference. Email addresses added here will receive notifications for every homeowner update from the account, but will be sent via the 'BCC' field of the update emails. So, if a builder wants their leadership team to stay informed about all construction updates without being visible to the homeowner, they should include those email addresses here (sales_leader@, field_leader@, etc.). You can remove any email addresses entered here for any individual home. - Save Changes
Once all details are set, scroll to the bottom of the screen and click Save to apply the changes.
Common Issues:
- Additional or Global Email Addresses Not Receiving Update Emails?
Ensure the email addresses are entered correctly in Builder Signal. If a distribution list is used as an email address (e.g. mangers@buildername.com), make sure all addresses for that list are correctly configured in your email system.
