About Builder Signal Roles - Homeowners

The Homeowner is the primary person that will receive updates for their home.

Homeowner

  • Email notifications will be sent to the Homeowner's email address when updates are made. Email Service Providers  (Gmail, Yahoo, etc.), may initially direct those messages to a Junk/Spam folder. If the Homeowner drags those messages to their Inbox, future update notification emails will likely reach the inbox directly.
  • Only one Homeowner can be assigned to a home. However, any number of people, other than the Homeowner, can receive email notifications to view home updates. Other interested parties may include spouses, partners, relatives, Realtors, and even internal builder staff. Use the Additional Email Recipients field in the New Home setup to add those other email addresses.
  • If you would like homeowners to communicate with you via Builder Signal, you must activate the Messaging feature for them, which is exclusively available in the Builder Signal Mobile App. Homeowners need an invitation from you to download the app and access the Messaging feature. This can accomplished in two ways.
    1. For newly created homeowners: When a Builder Admin sets up a Homeowner, they can send an invitation to download the Builder Signal Mobile App using the Send App Invite function. This will send an email to the Homeowner, with a link to download the app and set a password.
    2. For existing homeowners: You can invite them to download the Mobile App invitation by navigating to: Admin Dashboard > Users > Homeowners > Homeowner Name > Send App Invite.

  • Homeowners that have the Builder Signal app will continue to receive email notifications when updates are made. Clicking the links in the email will take them to their personalized Builder Signal website. Those updates will also be visible if the Homeowner is logged-in to the mobile app.
  • Homeowners only have access to updates for their own home, either through their unique Builder Signal website or through the Builder Signal Mobile App.
  • Homeowners may be assigned to multiple homes. They will receive updates for each home they are assigned to, and each home will be distinctly identified in their update email notifications, along with a unique personalized website for each home.
